September 2nd: Labor Day day 2 of the 30 Day Painting Challenge

Love in the Third Ward. Day two is a plein air study done while caring for my booth in the Third Ward (arts district) of Milwaukee. These two came and went pretty fast but not before they were imprinted on my mind! Happy Holiday everyone!

Division of Space

Lines are good. As an artist they are essential and I have deep respect for them. They serve as boundries,divisions of spaces, keepers of form and enticements to the other side. They draw us, repel us, move us to awe or tears and give meaning to a laugh. We all relate to the same line in a different way. Some experiance safety and some think Hummmmm...How exciting, how dangerous, let's cross!

It is evident that I have dared to set my tires at times just over the edge. Oh dear...In doing so I'm afraid I have exposed the oft confessed rebel in me. Wild emotions set down in paint next to a deep longing for a still quiet Voice. I have both screamed and prayed in oil.
